About Us
"I didn't see pictures that looked like me..."
This is what prompted our then 11 year old daughter to create our first designs, 'King' and 'Queen'.

Born from honest conversations and a drive for change against a backdrop of the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, Hey is that me...? is a family affair. We use our platform to bridge the gap between activism and art. We don't just design for the next generation; we design with them. By involving our daughters in the creative process, we ensure our streetwear remains rooted in curiosity and purpose.
We also believe style shouldn't cost the Earth.
- Organic Fabrics: T-shirts and sweatshirts crafted from premium organic cotton.
- Eco-Printing: Sustainable printing methods paired with recycled paper goods.
We are proud to be the winners of Best Culture-Driven Apparel Brand 2025 – UK (LUXLife Perfect Gift Awards). It’s a milestone that fuels our mission to keep creating clothing that carries a message.
What started as our 11 year old daughter's search for representation, became a family mission: to create wearable pride for everyone who deserves to see themselves. We are now an award-winning, family-run, design-led brand dedicated to empowering those of us in the diaspora to feel pride in our culture and heritage.
